Since 2008, the Faculty of Informatics has been periodically organising study days and study weeks dedicated to informatics, for students from high schools and vocational schools. The events are organised in cooperation with the Schweizer Jugend Forscht (study weeks Fascinating Informatics) and/or Canton high schools.
Divided in small groups, students carry our projects in different cutting-edge areas in the IT sector, followed by Faculty staff and researchers. The aim of these study weeks is especially to bring people closer to a fascinating discipline, at the discovery of its most interesting aspects.
The initiative answers to the federal authority’s call to boost the knowledge and understanding of MINT disciplines (mathematic, informatics, natural and technical sciences) at all levels of education, in order to encourage careers in the field and prevent a shortage of specialists in these areas.
