Abstract:

Social media has become the main communication platform where people tend to share their opinions and emotions openly. As a result, many are relying on these opinions in making their decisions. With the huge amount of opinions available, people tend to seek for a way in which they will be able to retrieve more precise information that will help them in their decision making process. Thus, comparative opinion mining has become a field that helps to deliver this information. It reveals the preference of users towards an entity that can comprise of product, service, people, etc. compared to another. This kind of information discloses the strengths and weaknesses of an entity which will be very useful to business organizations as well as individuals in their decision making process. In this talk, I will share on how comparative opinion mining can be utilized and explored further to benefit the online consumers.
