ABSTRACT:

One-fourth of the world population is engaging and spending significant amount of time in generating content in social media. This wide range of user generated information can be very useful if utilized properly in many different aspects. Personality mining and emotion mining enables users to be aware of themselves.  This self-awareness helps them in order to identify a suitable career that best fits their personality and reduce the potential impacts of negative emotions.  Besides that, it also helps in identifying emotions reflections by others pertaining to the post made.  This kind of information will be useful in crime detection, cyberbully detection, as well as marketing, education, health, politics, entertainment, etc.  In this talk, I will share on how personality and emotions are mined from social media and how this information is analyzed and utilized.
