ABSTRACT
According to Einstein's theory of general relativity the final state of gravitational collapse can be a black hole. However, since the energy density diverges inside a black hole, the classical description is incomplete and we need a quantum theory of gravity. In this talk I will therefore present a model for effective quantum gravitational collapse. In doing so I will in particular describe a numerical investigation of the black hole formation in this model.
