The prize is considered one of the most prestigious recognitions in software engineering education and is presented annually to members of the international scientific community who have made significant impact on the field as educators. Professor Jazayeri, who left a clear mark on the Faculty of Informatics as its first Dean, received the award for his textbooks on programming languages and software engineering and also for the innovative teaching curriculum he introduced in Lugano supporting the concept of project-based learning.
