Speaker: Prof. Anna Förster, Universität Bremen
There are many applications and technologies for the Internet of Things, but not so many directly support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. In this talk, I will present you with an overview of some sample applications from my ongoing research, including livestock protection from wolves, underground monitoring, and mosquito vector counting. I will explain how these applications are implemented and how they contribute to the SDGs. Furthermore, we will discuss some open challenges and future research directions.
Prof. Anna Förster obtained her MSc degree in computer science and aerospace engineering from the Free University of Berlin, Germany, in 2004 and her PhD degree in self-organising sensor networks from the University of Lugano, Switzerland, in 2009.
