ABSTRACT:
The Lattice Boltzmann (LB) method is now a recognized alternative to  traditional CFD solvers. I will first introduce the method from the  point of view of kinetic theory. Then I will present two applications of the LB approach to the modeling and simulation of multiscale biomedical problems: (1) blood clotting in cerebral aneurysms and (2) restenosis
in stented arteries.
