Three international Awards for IDSIA

Tre riconoscimenti internazionali per l'IDSIA | USI
The Dalle Molle Institute for artificial intelligence (IDSIA), an institute affiliated with Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) and the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI), has seen the high quality of its projects confirmed.
Thanks to various research teams, the institute was attributed the Best Paper Award at the European Conference on Symbolic and Quantitative Approaches to Reasoning with Uncertainty 2013 (thanks to the article Approximating Credal Network Inferences by Linear Programming by Alessandro Antonucci, Cassio Polpo de Campos, David Huber and Marco Zaffalon), and the Google Best Student Paper Award at the conference UAI 2013, one of the most important international meetings on uncertainty in the field of artificial intelligence, thanks to the article On the complexity of Strong and Epistemic Credal Networks written by Denis Deratani Mauà in collaboration with an IDSIA research group on imprecise probability consisting of Cassio Polpo de Campos, Alessio Benavoli and Alessandro Antonucci. Also, the institute received the Video competitor award for the video Task Relevant Roadmaps: iCub demonstrations at the recent Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Seattle (USA), thanks to the research team directed by Jürgen Schmidhuber and composed of Marijn Stollenga, Kail Frank, Juxi Leitner, Leo Pape, Alexander Förster and Jan Koutnik.
