The Faculty of Informatics is pleased to announce a seminar given by Leandro Sales Pinto

DATE: Thursday, May 24th, 2012
PLACE: USI Università della Svizzera italiana, room SI-008, Informatics building (Via G. Buffi 13)
TIME: 14.30

ABSTRACT:
Service Oriented Computing has brought a simplification in the way distributed applications can be built. Available mainstream approaches, however, failed to support dynamic and self-managed compositions. Indeed, because of the changeable world in which they are embedded, service compositions must be able to adapt to changes and to unexpected failures that may happen at run time. In this talk I will present DSOL, a radically different, strongly declarative approach that aims to simplify the process of modelling more flexible and self-adapting orchestrations.

BIO:
Leandro Sales Pinto is a PhD student at the Department of Electronics and Information of Politecnico di Milano since January 2010. He holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science from Universidade Federal do Ceara, Brazil and a M.Sc. in Applied Informatics from Universidade de Fortaleza, Brazil.

His research interests include software engineering and distributed systems, with particular emphasis on self-adaptive service compositions. In addition, he is also interested in analysis and software testing.
