The Contact Mechanics International Symposium (CMIS 2026) will be held in Lugano, Switzerland, bringing together international researchers to discuss the latest advances in theoretical, computational, experimental, and applied contact mechanics. The program spans topics from friction, wear, and tribology to numerical methods, mathematical analysis, dynamic and multiscale contact, multiphysics coupling, granular and rigid-body systems, and applications in engineering, biomechanics, and geomechanics, with new dedicated focus areas on computer graphics/animation contact modeling and HPC for large-scale contact problems.
Organizing committee: R. Krause, P. Zulian, M. Favino, M.G.C. Nestola
Invited speakers: Ballard Patrick (CNRS), Molinari Jean-François (EPFL) Panozzo Daniele (New York University), Puso Mike (Livermore National Laboratory), Wriggers Peter (Leibniz Universität Hannover)
