Mauro Pezzè is Professor of Software Engineering at the Università di Milano Bicocca and at the Università della Svizzera italiana where he has served as dean of the faculty of informatics from 2009 to 2013.

He is the leader of the STAR research group of the Università della Svizzera italiana, and the director of the LTA research laboratory of the Università di Milano Bicocca.

He received his PhD degree in computer science from Politecnico di Milano (Italy).

Dr. Pezzè is serving as editor in chief of ACM Transactions on Software Engineering and Methodologies since 2019. He has served as associate editor of IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering from 2013 to 2017, of ACM Transactions on Software Engineering and Methodologies from 2006 to 2013, and of the journal on Software Testing, Verification and Reliability (STVR) in 2018. He has served as general chair of the 2013 ACM International Symposium on Software Testing and Analysis (ISSTA), technical program chair of the 2006 ACM International Symposium on Software Testing and Analysis (ISSTA), program co-chair of the 2012 International Conference on Software Engineering (ICSE).

He has been technical lead for several multi-year international research and development projects in close collaboration with leading European information and communication companies.
