Research projects of the Faculty of Informatics
The Faculty of Informatics carries out competitive, innovative, interdisciplinary research projects aimed at both the development of knowledge and its application, carried out within a network that includes academic and business partners at international, national and local levels.
Projects are carried out within institutes, laboratories, and research groups on themes pertaining to the macro-areas in which the Faculty is active: Computational Science, Computer Systems, Geometric and Visual Computing, Information Systems, Intelligent Systems, Programming Languages, Software Engineering, Theory and Algorithms.
Funding comes for the most part from the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF), the European Union, agencies and programmes of the Swiss Confederation (in particular the Swiss Innovation Agency Innosuisse and the Swiss University Conference), private foudations and mandates from institutions and other organisations.

The project EXPeriMental, funded under the SNSF's funding scheme MAPS, combines expertise from cognitive sciences, motor sciences, human behavioural sensing via wearable sensors and explainable artificial intelligence to promote sustained mental health inclusivity in schools. Learn more
