Giorgio

I am a PhD student in the faculty of Informatics, at the University of Lugano in Switzerland. My supervisor is Prof. Laura Pozzi.

I was born and raised in Athens, where I received my BSc degree from the department of Digital Systems at the University of Piraeus, Greece in 2012. In 2013 I started Pursuing an MSc degree in Computer Science at Uppsala University, Sweden. I graduated in 2015, after completing my Master Thesis in the Uppsala Architecture Research Team (UART), where I worked on a research project targeting energy efficiency.

My current research includes compiler optimisations, focused on automating embedded processor customization. (e.g. Application-Specific Instruction Set Processors) In detail, I perform SW analysis and Automatic Identification of Custom Instructions (CIs) or Accelerators in software applications for more efficient and effective HW/SW co-design.
