About me

Hi! My name is Mircea Lungu and I am postdoc with the REVEAL group in the Faculty of Informatics of the University of Lugano (see map) led by professor Michele Lanza.

I got my PhD with the thesis "Reverse Engineering Software Ecosystems" in which I argued that visualizing structural and evolutionary information of software projects in the context of their ecosystem supports the reverse engineering of the ecosystem and improves the reverse engineering of the individual projects. You can read more about this in the thesis itself.

Before being in Lugano I graduated from the Computer Science Faculty of the Polytechnic University in Timisoara, Romania. For more biographic facts, have a look at my resume (updated Jan 19, 2010).

My professional activities include teaching (Currently co-teaching the Software Atelier course) and research in software engineering and visualization. For more information about my research check my publications list or my projects page.

In my spare time, I enjoy a lot reading. A while ago, I even started writing more or less serious reviews of the books I read. On this site I also keep a randomly and infrequently updated blog page, and some pictures in the section pretentiously titled photography.
